About Us
Al Qaasim Academy is an institute established to promote Islam and the teachings of Allah and His Messenger sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, through the methods of our pious Elders. Al Qaasim Academy was established in November 2011. The Academy’s activities are currently operating in St. Matthews, Leicester / in the LE1 area, and it has been running from this location for about 10 years.
Madrasah Qaasim ul ‘Ilm
The main purpose of the Academy is to distribute knowledge to eager students. The primary way of doing this is by the running of classes under the name of Madrasah Qaasim ul ‘Ilm.
Purpose of the Madrasah
There is a huge need for a Madrasah in this area, especially for adult’s and Madrasah Qaasim ul ‘Ilm hopes to fill this void. As despite Leicester being known for having so many Darul Ulooms and full-time institutes where higher-level Islamic knowledge is taught, there are still many adults who live in the heart of Leicester, who don’t know how to read the Qur’an Majeed at all, or who are Huffadh but have forgotten large portions of the Qur’an Majeed.
History of the Madrasah
Madrasah Qaasim ul ‘Ilm started informally in Autumn 2006 and as the Madrash grew, it was given the name Madrasah Qaasim ul ‘Ilm in Spring 2008, by Shaykhul Hadeeth, Hadhrat Mawlana Muhammad Salem Dhorat saheb damat barakatuhum.
Why This Madrasah Is Needed ?
There is a real need for Islamic education in this area—especially for adults. Even though Leicester has many Darul Ulooms and full-time Islamic institutes, many adults in the city centre still cannot read the Qur’an Majeed, or are Huffāẓ who have forgotten large parts of it. Madrasah Qaasim ul ‘Ilm aims to support these individuals with care, respect, and quality teaching.
