Class Timings and Structure

Madrasah Qaasim ul ‘Ilm runs six days a week, making it a full-time Madrasah. Classes are held in the mornings, afternoons, evenings, and even at night.

Lessons are offered in different formats:

  • On-site, online, and over the phone
  • Group classes or one-to-one sessions, depending on the student’s preference

We teach both adults and children, which makes this Madrasah different from traditional ones that usually focus only on children and teenagers.

Number of Students

Al Qaasim

At present, around 50 students attend the Madrasah regularly on a weekly basis.

If the one-day students and those who join temporarily are added up, then about 100 students enrol in different classes each year at the Madrasah.

Student Uniform

Students are expected to observe a simple and respectful dress code:
- Male adults and boys: Topi and Jubbah
- Girls: Jubbah and scarf
This applies to all students, whether they attend on-site, online, or over the phone.

Term Dates
Classes generally follow the school term calendar, with the exception of a 5-week break during Ramadhan and Eid al-Fitr. Students are kindly requested to plan their holidays around these dates to keep absences to a minimum.

Jalsas
Two Jalsas are held each year:
- A half-yearly Jalsa in December
- An annual Jalsa in June

These gatherings are designed to motivate students, strengthen their connection with the Madrasah, and allow the wider community to learn about the courses and activities taking place. Past students are also encouraged to attend and reconnect with the spirit and memories of their time at the Madrasah.

Homework

Students are encouraged to revise their lessons before attending class. As a general guideline, we recommend 30 minutes of preparation before each session to help reinforce learning.

Safeguarding
All Madrasah staff are first aid trained and hold safeguarding certificates. We are committed to ensuring that both children and adults feel safe, respected, and supported while learning.

The Madrasah places strong emphasis on adab (etiquette) and tarbiyyah (nurturing character), delivered with wisdom and care. We view our students as honoured guests who have come to learn the Dīn of Allāh, and we work together to overcome any challenges that may arise.
